About Nursing Necklaces
NURSING NECKLACE TIME LINE:
- 4 months + : Keeps baby focused on Mom during nursing when baby's developing senses lead to frequent distraction.
- 6 months + : Keeps baby from hurting Mom during nursing as baby's motor skills are improving.
- 12 months + : Toddlers thrive on 'rituals', so the necklace is particularly helpful to put on just before nursing to let them know it's 'milkie time'
- 18 months + : Toddlers are eager to learn and love repetition, so what better learning device than the nursing necklace they see everyday?! Almost any style has opportunities for learning color-identification, animal-recognition and counting.
DO'S AND DON'TS:
TWIDDLE & TUG? Yes; and it will feel oh, so much better than it did on your tender skin and hair!
TASTE? Yes; young babies use their mouths to explore new things and these nursing necklaces are designed with some 'mouthing' in mind. Ideally, though, baby's mouth should be latched onto you!
TEETHER? No; beads, especially carved figures, can fracture or break if routinely chewed or bitten too hard. When your nursing session is over and chewing ensues, offer your baby a toy or device specifically made safe for teething babies.
TOY? No; for the safety of your children AND your nursing necklace, children should only be allowed to handle it while a wakeful adult is wearing it. Necklaces and their components pose a strangulation and choking hazard and beads can fracture or break if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. Please keep your necklace out of reach of your children when not in use.

Includes strong, flexible, kink-resistant stainless-steel cable strand cased in nylon, silver plated crimp beads, sterling silver crimp bead covers, a sterling silver lobster clasp and a sterling silver split ring. All the exposed components are made of genuine sterling silver. The proportions of sterling silver (92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% Copper) are fixed by law, so you are assured that it contains no 'mystery metals' that would be harmful for your baby to mouth.
BASIC UPGRADE:
All wooden designs include Basic Upgraded Construction. Includes strong, flexible, kink-resistant stainless-steel cable strand cased in nylon, silver plated crimp beads, sterling silver crimp bead covers, a silver plated lobster clasp and a silver plated split ring. It is recommended that you not let your baby mouth on the clasp components because the silver plating can be damaged and the content of the underlying base metal is unregulated.
